How to include a license inside font files with FontForge

Sometimes when type designers use a free software license, they just say "This font uses the OFL" as if that was sufficient.
It is annoying to get an OFL font and not know where it is from or even if it claims reserved names.
Our upload form has a checkbox for people to confirm they have done their homework when applying their chosen license.
In all cases, this means including a copy of the license in the font.
FontForge has made it very easy to add the OFL to fonts. Here is a step-by-step guide to doing so:
