We would like to thank the following projects, websites and organisations for their support of the project:

  • FontForge is a font editor for GNU/Linux, Mac OS X and Windows
  • Inkscape is a illustration program for GNU/Linux, Mac OS X and Windows
  • Open Clip Art Library is a father project of this one, because this project was originally conceived of by Jon Phillips and Alexandre Prokoudine as a version of the Open Clip Art Library that would focus on fonts instead of illustrations.
  • Open Content Library is the superset project of Open Clip Art Library and Open Font Library, and others.
  • Robert Martinez designed the site's logo, to go with the Open Clip Art logo.
  • Reading Type is a design consultancy from Ben Weiner who has helped the project enormously through sustained volunteer work and being sponsored by the free font fund to redesign the site in late 2008.
  • James Weiner of Unicorn Creative provided the visual design for the 2008 redesign, including the "Get Share Remix" icons.
  • UniFont is a site about multilingual text processing with free software, run by Ed Trager, who developed the innovative interactive font preview system we use.
  • Understanding Fonts is a type design workshop by Dave Crossland, who in 2008 raised the funding to hire Ben and James Weiner and sponsor Ed Trager's work. He has guided development of the project.

  • Scribus is a desktop publishing program for GNU/Linux, Mac OS X and Windows
