Welcome ! This wiki is for the Open Font Library Project community to document various long term visions, roadmaps on how to achieve those visions, and other meta-project writings.

It may also be useful as a central repository of Free Font Movement documentation, so if you have something that's not strictly related to the Open Font Library Project, but is related to Free Fonts, your contributions are welcome!

The biggest weakness from an FOSS point of view is there are few good high quality fonts - Peter "mrdocs" Linnel, Scribus Team, 2005

Open Content Library - The superset project of Open Clip Art Library and Open Font Library.
Chat Channel
- Since the Open Font Library is a sister project of the Open Clip Art Library, if you want to chat to OFLB people on IRC, many of us can be found in #openclipart on FreeNode
Bloggers can sign up after submitting hackgotchis and a feed for OFLB blogposts.

Open Font Library Specifications

Submission Guidelines -- a simple checklist to guide your font submissions.
Font Formats -- technical description of formats
Font Design -- how to design fonts
Font Packaging -- what to include in an archive/package that contains fonts, file name conventions, etc.
Font Categorisation -- which font characteristics (style, family, etc) to include for each font.
Font Licensing -- which Free Software licenses are suitable for fonts.
