Marty says

the logo refers to a letter case which contains different types of letters. there we have an arabic, chinese, hebrew and a latin letter and various symbols. the letter in the middle means beauty. the logo for a white background has an outline on the top left in order to be able to see the borders of the letter case.

it refers as well to the square of the OCAL logo and (*tataaa*) continues the color spectrum (yes, I really like this idea ;))

I like how clean yours is, but it is too complicated IMO for a logo. Could you figure out a way to focus on less characters (possibly three). Please upload more! Keep it coming :)

yes, i see the same disadvantage althought the logo of the wikipedia shows that this kind of logo is still possible. but i would be more satisfied with a simpler logo as well. but don't you think that the restriction to three or four characters respectively fonts is a little bit unfair for the font types that do not appear on the logo? that was my problem with the previous entry (with the latin, chinese and music character). the focus is to big on the selected types of fonts, i think. i still miss the idea for a universal symbol for fonts in general.

While I agree 9 might be too much, I like the grid aspect. Maybe 4 will simplify it but keep the grid motif. Also, it might work with some colours in the squares as well, although maybe only a couple so it doesn't get too busy colour-wise. Nice job.

yes, but then it is getting hard to select the characters which should appear in the grid.
